Mr Wolfenstein has had extensive experience and education in music, with particular focus on Violin in performance. Doni has studied with Yolanta Kulaga, Brendon Joyce at high school and mainly with Ms. Kerry Smith at the Queensland Conservatorium. He has had experience conducting the CCO, and has been the Concert Master of the CCO and ICO, often also called in for tuition and consulting for other ensembles. As a Violinist, he has also performed as a Soloist with numerous ensembles throughout Australia, has won and been placed in many Competitions and Eisteddfods. Previously the Director of the St Andrew’s Camerata, and currently the Founder of the National Piano Trio of Australia, The Early Music Ensemble, he is currently playing at Queensland Baroqueand and the conductor at VIVO Ensemble. Doni has over 20 years of teaching experience, and has been a part of Vivo for over 18 years and now he is the Director of VIVO. Doni has trained various range of level students from beginner to AMUS. His special teaching methods help a lot of his students get very very fast progress and significant achievements at AMEB Exams, performances and competitions. Mr. Wolfenstein is semi-retired at the moment and won’t take anymore students temporarily.
Evie Scott is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young musicians by helping them fall in love with their instrument and achieve their goals. Evie is studying a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium and has over ten years of experience as a violinist leading and playing in instrumental ensembles including the Melbourne Youth Orchestra and Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra. She has experience with working with world class conductors, including Brett Kelley, John Foreman AM, and Sir Simon Rattle. Evie teaches students from beginner to advanced and is able to prepare students for AMEB preliminary to grade 8 and above. Whether you’re looking to learn violin as a hobby or for a potential career, Evie is equipped to give your child a personalised learning experience that prioritises technique, musicality and most importantly, a love for the violin.
Jeremy began playing guitar at the age of 14 upon hearing Jimi Hendrix. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music major in classical guitar at James Cook University graduating have played in all types of ensembles from contemporary popular music, to jazz and classical.Jeremy hold a Masters degree in Teaching from the University of Western Australia and a Master of Music Studies from Griffith Conservatory majoring in Jazz guitar. Jeremy also hold an associate, and licentiate at the Australian Guild of Music. He is very passionate about helping students find their way on their musical journey whether that be professional or just for fun!
Sarah graduates the Bachelor of Music (honours), specialising in Cello, at the University of Queensland. Sarah has more than 6 years of teaching experiences with students of all ages from 5 y/o to adult and at different levels of playing from beginner to concert/diploma . She is familiar with AMEB, ABRSM and the Trinity College of Music examinations. Sarah has experience in supporting school programs, preparing students for AMEB exams, and giving lessons to those who just want to start a new hobby. Sarah is also largely active in composition/arrangements and conducting ensembles/ orchestra. She is an engaging and enthusiastic teacher, and finds it important to improve technical skills while keeping playing enjoyable. Her main goal when teaching is to motivate her students and help them to discover their full potential. Aside from music teaching, Sarah is also active in performing as a part of many different orchestras and ensembles, including the Barrier Reef Orchestra and currently a member of the Queensland Baroque Orchestra, Queensland University Symphony Orchestra.
Genia, has completed her B.Mus degree many many years ago and has been teaching in Vivo for almost 20 years. Altogether she has more than 40 years of teaching experience. Her students range from the young to adults, beginners to AMUS, LMUS. She’s very familiar with AMEB (Australian Music Exam Board) and ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music). Many of her students have very high achievement. Genia is professional, experienced in music pedagogy and expert in Russian piano methodical teaching. Her exceptional Technic and extensive knowledge in piano leads her students to great success when preparing for performances, musical exams and international competitions.
Chris is a qualified teacher who has spent 10 years teaching secondary students in Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Having completed his degree, majoring in music, he combines expertise with a passion for learning and teaching piano. Chris holds a deep understanding of music theory, technique, and repertoire; with experience in both classical piano and modern styles.
He brings a unique insight into exam preparation being familiar with ANZCA (Australia New Zealand Cultural Arts) modern exams. Chris is patient and empathetic, meeting each student at their own level and pace; which helps ensure progress, enjoyment and success.
James has over 15 years of drumming experience and 10 years as a professional performer. He has played at several private functions and also at music festivals. He is also currently in his own band ‘The Unofficials’ and the member of “The Big Band’. James has also performed for a variety of different bands over the years in a range of different styles and has developed a broad musical palate to draw from. James has completed a Diploma in Music, Diploma of Popular Music at JMC and is graduated a Bachelor of Jazz Performance at the Jazz Music Institute. He is experienced in a range of styles including Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, Progressive styles, Heavy Metal, Jazz and Latin. Lessons will be tailored to individual students’ needs and musical direction and will have emphasis on technique and control, developing students’ coordination, and improvisational abilities. This will give them the tools they need to not only be a successful drummer, but a successful musician.
Tanya has a Bachelor of Music (Honours) and Master of Philosophy in Music and Education graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, and is a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidate, studying community music and education. She has been teaching clarinet, flute, saxophone at VIVO College of Music since 2009. Tanya performs with community ensembles, and has a strong history of playing with Conservatorium ensembles, Queensland Youth Orchestras, and as a soloist. Tanya specialises in holistic teaching for assessment preparation, such as AMEB, university entry and assessments, and school instrumental exams, and believes in supporting her students to both excel at and enjoy their musical craft with enthusiasm and diligence.
Sebastien has recently begun his teaching at Vivo College of Music as a violin and viola teacher. He is familiar with AMEB, ABRSM and the Trinity College of Music examinations. Under the tutelage of Imants Larsens, Sebastien recently graduated from his postgraduate certificate in viola performance at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in 2024 and having completed his Bachelor of Music in 2022. In addition to various programs with the Australian Youth Orchestra, he also plays viola in the Queensland Youth Symphony orchestra with one of the main highlights being the international tour at the end of last year. He has taught and is currently teaching viola, violin and piano to a range of students and also conducts and assists the string ensembles at Rainworth State School.
Sebastien got double AMus on Piano and Viola during the time at Brisbane Stage High School 2015-2019. He got many services to Music Award at BSHS. Nowadays, Sebastien is really looking forward to teaching violin and viola at Vivo College of Music, sharing his love and passion for music.”
Eileen completed a Bachelor of Music in Performance at the Canberra School of Music in 1979 with high distinction under David Cubbin. Eileen was a Commonwealth finalist in the ABC Concerto Competition that same year with the Mozart D Major Flute Concerto with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.
She studied internationally in Europe with William Bennett (Wibb) in London for 2 years and during this time was accepted as one of 10 people to play for James Galway’s masterclasses in Switzerland.
Eileen taught at the Kent School of Music in the UK and attended Ramsgate Masterclasses with Peter Lukas Graf, Trevor Wye, and William Bennett. At Melbourne University, she taught Bachelor of Music students in 1981 for 10 years before moving to Brisbane where she freelanced and examined for the Australian Music Examinations Board throughout Queensland for 15 years.
During her career , Eileen has produced successful professional and high level flute players in Australia and trained a few top class flute players in music industry.
Juan has over 5 years of teaching experience and 10 years as a professional performer. Juan has completed a Master Degree in Music specialise on Clarinet and Alto Saxophone. He will continue his music journey as a PhD Candidate next year.
Juan primary focus is to provide high-quality musical education that nurtures artistic development and a passion for music in his students.
Juan is widely recognized as a highly skilled and accomplished clarinet musician, known for his exceptional talent and mastery of the instrument. As both a clarinet and saxophone teacher, his dedication and expertise have earned him a reputation for excellence in performance and education.
Steeven is a Lyric Singer, graduated from the Salvador Bustamante Higher Conservatory Celi and a Master Candicate at University of Queensland major in Music Performance. He is also a Composer and Jazz Pianist, specialise on Jazz and Modern Music. Stenveen has a various of his own music products with highly skill of Modern Harmony. He have an immediate, positive impact on students’ achievement, specially help to improve the voice by training students to sing and improve vocal range with appropriate techniques. Steveen offer students with different strategies to enhance the music by teaching breath control, speech exercises, note accuracy, and other methods to prepare students for performance and work to engage them in the music.
Milo is a passionate and professional young musician commended for his ability to convey emotion and engage audiences in his playing. He is trained in teaching the Suzuki method – the primary musical education for a vast majority of the world’s top musicians. Milo is studying Bachelor of Music (honours), specialise in Cello, at the Queensland Conservatorium after finish the music excellence program at Mansfield State High School. He has played the cello in the Queensland Youth Symphony, performed multiple concertos with orchestra, travelled with the Australian Youth Orchestra, and has sat as principal cellist in the Queensland Conservatorium Youth Symphony for several years. Milo is privileged to study cello under Hyung Suk Bae from the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. He develops students who are confident and musically convincing performers – his students successfully complete examinations and win orchestral positions. His teaching is highly praised by his colleagues as well. With broad experience as a soloist, chamber and orchestral performer, Milo has developed a style focused on storytelling through both technical mastery and emotional expression.
Lyoko Myers completed a Bachelor of Music Degree at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in 2004.During her final year, she also performed in the Australian Army Reserve band as the Co-Principal Flute player. In 2017, She commenced her Graduate Diploma in Music (Performance) degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the guidance of Flute lecturer, James Kortum. During her studies, she was offered the Principal Flute position in the Sydney Conservatorium University Orchestra.
Lyoko also has professional orchestral experience as she performed in the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra as the fourth flute player/second piccolo player a year before moving to Sydney. In addition, she has tutored flute students for over 10 years of varying levels – beginner to university level. She is well-versed with the AMEB curriculum (for flute performance exams) as she is experienced in teaching flute students from all levels to Amus. Lyoko’s ultimate goal is to bring out the best in all her students and to encourage them to feel joy and a sense of accomplishment on stage
