VIOLIN LESSONS

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT VIOLIN study

The violin is a string instrument, usually with four strings tuned in perfect fifths. It is the smallest, highest-pitched member of the violin family of string instruments which also includes the viola, the cello, and the string bass. An individual who plays the violin is called a violinist. The violinist produces sound by drawing a bow across one or more strings, by plucking the, or by a variety of other techniques. The violin is played by musicians in a wide variety of musical genres, including Baroque music, classical, jazz, country music, bluegrass music, folk music, metal, rock and roll, and soft rock.

Violin Section at the VIVO College of Music have a long-standing tradition of excellence, and our outstanding strings instructors are comfortable with students of all ages and experience levels with high achievements. Students gain a historical overview of the violin while also gaining an appreciation of the instruments’ diversity extending beyond the scope of just classical music.

After learning the intricacies of the different parts and maintenance of the instrument, students then have to learn the proper posture and positioning of the instrument and bow. The basic principles of music theory including notation and rhythmic concepts are then applied to the instrument creating simple pieces that the students eventually perform together and solo.

IMPROVE YOUR MUSIC POWER FROM VIOLIN LESSONS

Violin lessons boost memory and mental capacities.

Many studies show that playing the violin (alongside other musical instruments) even for just a year positively affects your brain’s capacity for memory. It can also improve your reading skills, language processing, speech and attention span. Research has found that children and teens who play the violin have stronger verbal and visual pattern abilities than those playing other instruments. Also, violinists have larger than average brains, with those parts connected to left-hand movements particularly responsive and sensitive. For children battling with psychological disorders, playing the violin even has a calming effect that helps prevent episodes.

IMPORTANT THINGS FOR VIOLIN LESSONS

You are not alone. Welcome to the violin community!

Violin is a community. I have made my closest friends from playing violin. Once you start taking violin lessons, you’ll also meet fellow violinists as you attend local concerts or join a local ensemble. We violinists love talking about what we’re working on or what inspires us. So reach out to the community and make your voice heard, we want to get to know you! Check out the links below for more tips for learning violin for beginners. These are just a few of the things I wish I had known before I started learning violin. But even still, I survived the first few years of playing violin so with these tips in mind I know you will do just fine.
